I am a associate professor at Graduate School of Public Policy and Graduate School of Law, Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan. I obtained my Ph.D. in International Relations from Kyoto University in 2019.
International Relations, Game Theory, and Data Analysis
I am interested in international relations, in particular, the interdependence among international economy, politics and security.
The research questions include why states build economic relations with their enemies, how states use the economic relations as a statecraft, and what the features and political consequences of globalization.
To understand such a complicated world, I primarily employ game theory and data analysis.

国際関係をゲーム理論やデータ分析によって理解する。
国際関係、特に国家間の経済関係と政治・安全保障関係がどのように絡まり合っているのか、に関心があります。
国家はなぜ敵対国とも経済交流をするのか、経済関係をどのように政治的目的に使うのか、グローバル化はどのような現象であり、どのような政治的影響をもたらしているか、といった問いに取り組んでいます。
このような複雑な現象を理解するために、ゲーム理論やデータ分析といった手法を用いています。
2020年10月1日付けで北海道大学公共政策大学院に着任いたしました。
